What this calculator does

The Age Calculator finds the exact time elapsed between a date of birth and a target date (today, by default). It breaks the result down into years, months, and days, and also shows totals in months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes so you can see your age from several angles.

How the calculation works

Age is calculated by comparing the birth date and target date calendar unit by calendar unit. Years and months are counted first, and any remaining days are calculated using the actual number of days in the relevant calendar month, so the result stays accurate across months of different lengths and leap years.
